Moisturising creams cannot really penetrate the deeper layers of the skin. The lower layers are waterproof and no oil, cream or moisturiser can seep through them. But they can help add some vital oils, which dry skin lack. Moisturisers also help the natural drying effects of cold air, sun's rays and certain types of pollution.
Some people mistake cleansing creams with moisturising creams. They are not the one and the same. Cleansing creams are meant to remove make up only. They do not in anyway moisturise or nourish the skin. Soaps are not very effective in removing make up while cleansing creams are ideal for this purpose.Moisturising creams have rich oils that feed the skin it's necessary nutrients. Oily skin needs lubrication too - but not as often as dry skin does. People with oily skin need to use a thinner lotion. They also don't need thick night creams - except a wee bit under their eyes.People with oily skin are considered more blessed since their skin tends to look younger - even if it is prone to perpetual shine and pimples.Remember that your skin care kit always needs a moisturising cream in order to be effective.
