Know your skin type. What kind of skin do you have? Is it normal, oily or dry? Or do you have a combination-skin, one that is partly oily and partly dry? You need to know the skin type you have so you can deal effectively with your skin problems. Each skin type has different kinds of solution. Even the kind of make up that one uses is different for each type of skin. Those with oily skin should use make up that is oil-free in content. If you don't know what type of skin you have, maybe you should consult your beautician about it. She could help you decide how to go about your skin care routine.
Don't touch your face without cause. If your hands are constantly about your face, touching, rubbing, scratching etc., it will only worsen the acne. We almost always have germs on our hands. So, keep your hands off your face. Try not to rest your face in the palm of your hand, as you'll transmit the bacteria from your hands to your face. Result, more acne breakouts!
Don't pick your acne. A few of them look ripe for picking. You need to go out for an important get-together. And you'll look so much better if those little things weren't visible. Drink water. Drink at least eight glasses of water a day. Water flushes out your system, cleaning it of all impurities. This helps your skin glow with hydration and health. A dehydrated skin always lacks lustre and looks tired. Besides the water helps to tone down the excessive oil content in your body.
Medication. If your acne is severe, you need to visit a dermatologist. Use the prescribed drugs as advocated. This will help bring down the severity of the problem.
