'Sun' Sitive, Preserve Your Beauty

  • If you are fair complexioned, and are prone to heat rash, then use absorbent powders, as they help a great deal along with sunscreens.
  • As the skin is very sensitive and more prone to ailments than the rest of the body, it is very important to protect it. Use sunscreen that would protect you well.
  • Soothing lukewarm baths or cool showers can cool skin down when the heat is unbearable. It's always recommended to shower immediately after coming out of the ocean or pool. Then reapply sunscreen to dry skin, even if the afternoon is waning. As long as you are outside, you must be protected.
  • For a treat, keep your sunscreens and moisturisers in the refrigerator. So, when you apply them, your skin will feel cool and refreshed.
  • Avoid certain oils that can cause a rash when applied on the skin. Extracts from certain oils like lime, figs and ginger can be extremely sensitive on the skin.
  • Certain medications like, Birth Control Pills, Blood Pressure medicines and Antihistamines may also cause rashes if they are photosensitive. If you need to know which of the medication you are taking is photosensitive, consult a pharmacist or your doctor.
