- Apply your foundation first. This alone can cover quite a few blemishes. After you have achieved an even tone, decide if you really need one. Less make up is always better.
- Use a pointed brush to apply a concealer. You can use your finger to pat it down.
- If you are trying to hide pigmentation on your face, you need coloured concealers. Bluish pigments need yellow creams to be hidden. Red blemishes need green toned concealers. White complexions need pink concealers.
- For dark circles around the eyes, start from the inner corner of your eye and slowly spread the concealer outwards. Always handle this area gently. Use your ring finger. It's the gentlest.
- When you dab on the concealer, make sure it covers the blemish you are trying to hide.
- Gently blend in the concealer till it is well absorbed. You must produce a smooth, even effect.
- Finally, use a sponge to lightly pat powder above the concealer. This helps set it.
- If you have an oily skin, choose a concealer that is free of oil. Or you could end up aggravating your pimples.
