Split ends. They're the bane of our hair. Not only do the make us look unkempt - they also make the hair brittle and more likely to break. We end up having more bad hair days than good ones.
It's a well known fact that we can't repair split ends. But the point to focus on is - we can prevent them with a bit of care and caution. You owe your hair that much - remember - it's your crowning glory.
It's a well known fact that we can't repair split ends. But the point to focus on is - we can prevent them with a bit of care and caution. You owe your hair that much - remember - it's your crowning glory.
- Don't brush your hair when it is wet. Wet hair is vulnerable and prone to break.
- Don't use a hair dryer every time you wash your hair. Over heating your hair is one of the prime causes of split ends.
- Use a brush with natural bristles. Synthetic brushes tend to pull your hair. Natural brushes are also gentler on your hair.
- Always condition your hair after you wash it. Conditioning your hair will prevent it from getting dry and splitting at the ends.
- Protect your hair from the sun. Use a hat or a dupatta or your sari pallu to cover your hair when you're outdoors.
- If your hair is prone to splitting at the ends, trim it every six weeks. It helps to keep your hair in better condition.
- If you do end up with split ends - trim them as soon as possible.
