Hair Loss Causes

Hair loss has become a major problem these days. Adults usually suffer from hair loss due to various reasons but in modern times, it is quite evident in teens as well. When the hairs fall regularly and that too in a large volume, it indicates that something is wrong. The causes of hair loss are many and differ from person to person but to have a deep insight about the problem one must be aware of all possible reasons. It may occur due to sickness or lack of nutrition. To know more about the condition, one can read the major factors listed below:

Sickness or medical condition:
Many disease account hair fall such as patients suffering from diabetes, hormonal disturbances such as thyroid disease, etc. Some diseases disturb the normal hair production process and results in hair loss. Many other diseases such as endocrine conditions, polycystic ovary syndrome can result in hair loss in adult women or in teens as well.

Lack of Minerals or Nutrients: People who have poor eating habits can suffer from hair loss. As hair requires proteins, essential nutrients, and vitamins for their growth, lack of these nutrients often leads to hair loss. Protein is required for hair growth and structuring. Iron deficiency in women or in athletes also causes hair loss.

Medicines: Some medicines show adverse effects on hair growth such as dieting pills. Amphetamine  is major constituent of dieting pills that causes hair loss. Other medicines that may lead to hair loss are acne medicines and medicines taken to treat the bipolar disorders. Cancer treatment drugs and therapies are well-known for causing hair loss.

Styling and Cosmetic Treatments:
Hair styling is a common tradition these days and it is done to enhance the overall personality. Teens usually undergo cosmetic treatments to make their hair look silky and attractive. The chemicals used during these procedures harms the hairs and ultimately leads to hair fall. Various procedures being performed on hairs to make them look good are hair coloring, straightening, perming, etc that damages the roots and leads to hair fall.

Some other causes of hair fall are severe stress, environmental factors such as pollution, smoke, etc. Women during pregnancy, puberty, menopause, and some other natural conditions undergo frequent hormonal changes that associate hair fall. Skin diseases also accompany hair loss such as alopecia as it affects the scalp. If you are suffering from hair fall, you should find out the possible cause and refer solutions for it.
