For a smoother complexion, try chemical peel. It removes the top layer of cells, which are then replaced during healing with new skin. Depending on the condition of your skin, chemical peels can be done in three ways - the mild alphahydroxy acids (AHAs) peel, trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel and the strongest phenol peel.
The surgeon or dermatologist begins the peel by cleansing the skin to remove all oil, dirt and soap traces. Hair is moved out of the way and the chemical is carefully applied.
Before the chemical peel treatment, you need to prepare your face after consulting with the doctor. An AHA, such as glycolic acid, can also be mixed with a facial wash or cream in lesser concentrations as part of a daily skin care regimen to improve the skin's texture.
