Flaunting designer clothing from the latest lineup certainly makes a woman look trendy and rich, but not stylish. Looking fashionable and smart does not necessarily mean that one has to attend fashion shows and shell out thousands on designer outfits. Being stylish simply requires good mixing and matching abilities. To stand out from the rest, a woman should have a flair for mixing the right clothes with accessories and matching different hues for creating a unique look.

Many women can comfortably blend a variety of styles, patterns, colors, fabric and accessories whereas others have a hard time even understanding which shoes go with which outfit. Pairing shoes with clothes is one of the hardest things to do, especially when it comes to work shoes because they need to look professional, trendy, stylish and since one has to wear these shoes all day long, comfort level is a must.

Pairing pants and shoes isn`t that hard – one has to remember that the front of the foot should always be brushed by the front of the hemline. Another rule is that only about half an inch (one can stretch it another half) of heel should be visible from the back. Although it`s frequently spotted these days, one must not wear heels with pants hemmed for flats. It makes legs appear shorter and looks as if it doesn`t fit.

Also, wearing 2 inch heels with pants that are hemmed for 3.5 inches looks goofy. Henceforth, one should make it a point to wear pants that are hemmed for a particular heel height. Most of us can`t really afford to have a pair of shoes for each pair of pants that`s why it`s advised to keep heels that have approximately the same height. By doing this, one can wear any pair of pants with every pair of shoes and look smart and elegant every day.  

Some important things to remember are:

For a dressier appearance, wear thin nylon socks of exact color as that of shoes.

When wearing boots, ensure that the pants hang conveniently over the top.

Legs appear longer if the color of shoes and pants match.

Matching the color of shoes with the color of belt gives a more casual look.

Socks should always either match the color of shoes or be lighter. Never wear dark colored socks to work.
 
When shopping for casual shoes for workplace, one has to ensure that they provide excellent arch support. One must take considerations of her office – whether it has a tiled floor, carpeted or simply cemented. When choosing shoes, go for the ones that come with proper cushioning and to check that, one should try shoes on and walk around for a while. This will also help her identify whether or not the shoes are comfortable. Because of their professional look, leather shoes are perfect for offices – they are classy, comfortable as well as breathe well. Although cheap, faux leather should always be avoided as it may be harmful.
