Because of their relaxed make and comfortable fitting, dungarees were first introduced for the working class in the mid twentieth century. Later, it became the most favored clothing for toddlers and in the eighties, it found a way into Hollywood where it was worn as a non-glamorous attire. Today, dungarees have become a part of all dominions wherein toddlers, industrial labors and even fashionistas are spotted flaunting them around.

From being sort of a uniform for industrial workers to bagging a place in the fashion streets, dungarees have come a long way over the years. Very recently, Jessie J posted her pics in a pair of blue dungarees on her Twitter page. Other celebs that were spotted in dungarees are Demi Moore, Selma Blair, Lily Allen, Alexa Chung, Ashlee Simpson, Michelle Keegan and Helena Christensen.

Who says dungarees are unflattering attire? Indeed, it`s not a body hugging, curve-flaunting piece of clothing, yet these ladies sported dungarees with style, looked fab in them and chased away any doubt about the attire. Dungarees are best suited to women who have a little extra flab around the waist. Belly bulges are the hardest to get rid off and no other attire hides them like dungarees do. It`s all about looking hot and covering one`s ab failure altogether.

Beyond the anti-fashion domains, dungarees are emerging as the hot property amongst the fashion-fads and spotlight-stealer. While Demi Moore and Alexa Chung buckled up their dungarees wearing nothing underneath them, others combined them with stylish tees and urbane jewelry for a groovy look. Following the footsteps of these fashion divas, women around the world are embracing this new hot style.

The good thing about dungarees – the fashionable ones – is that they come in extensive styles. One can find a whole lot of different cuts, prints, designs, fabrics, colors and even patterns. And the best thing about dungarees is their availability in overalls, capris, thigh-length shorts, knee-length shorts and even hot pants styles. So many options to come up with one`s own mix and match styles and setting new trends.

White dungaree shorts are the latest summer trend. Combine it with a red tee or black tanks and flip flops, throw in a pair of sunglasses, a simple bracelet (non shiny) and it`s good to go. Carrying a bag is a matter of one`s own personal style. The outfit can be matched with a clutch or a sleek shoulder bag and if one wants to flash about a more casual look, sling bags are the way to go. Besides white, a handful of spring colors round off the summer collection wherein one can find floral prints as well.
