Tips to Handle Hair Loss

Not every woman is blessed with Rapunzel-like hair. Well, think about it, any woman probably wouldn`t even want to have it because it would be too troublesome to take care of hair that long. However, every woman wants to have strong and lustrous hair but often faces tough luck because of the biggest adversary – hair loss.
Hair fall and growth go hand in hand but sometimes, this simultaneous process becomes intermittent which leads to hair loss. It is a common phenomenon affecting many women worldwide. The reason could be anything ranging from hereditary to a disease to even negligence. With some little changes in lifestyle, every woman can have long, lustrous and healthy hair.

First things first, one needs to minimize any treatment that includes chemicals. Heat styling, perming, straightening, too much coloring and blow-drying ravage the scalp as well as hair follicle. Apart from that, several unhealthy practices like excessive brushing, tying hair too tight, brushing wet hair and rough toweling stretch hair roots and even pull out some. Therefore, one should kick these unhealthy habits of treating hair roughly.

We all know exercising is great for the body – it facilitates blood circulation, enhances nutrient absorption and is a great stress buster. One can do cardio, weights, yoga, long walks, jogs or any other kind to improve health. Besides exercising, another way to improve blood flow in the scalp is hair massage and cold water shampoo.

A healthy diet promotes healthy hair and protein should be the chief constituent of one`s daily intake as it comprises five amino acids that are specifically advantageous for hair growth. It`s advised that every woman should have a protein rich diet consisting of lean meats, dairy products, nuts, fish, eggs, cereals, soya, to name a few. If required protein isn`t consumed by the body, the hair begins to fall out slowly in the first few months and then pick up the pace.

Another means of keeping hair from falling is vitamin E. It gives a nudge to better blood flow to the scalp which results in healthy hair as all vitamins and minerals reach the scalp with ease and strengthen hair roots. Women should limit the intake of alcohol as well as caffeine because they decrease the levels of folic acid, vitamin B and C, zinc and other essential elements. A deficiency badly influences hair quality and induces hair loss.

Essential oils also give a boost to hair growth as they increase blood circulation through hair follicles. One should massage her scalp thrice a week. using 3-4 drops of essential oils mixed with coconut or almond oil and see the difference in a couple of weeks.

While some of us take great care of hair, others take it for granted and only when they notice they have lost most of it, they start preventing it. Proper hair care is essential at all stages, whether or not it is being damaged. Because if one starts protecting hair early, there will be no need for her to worry about hair loss at all.
