Babies are most often affected by intestinal worms and parasites. This is more often found in tropical and sub tropical areas and children are more prone to worm infection rather than adults. The intestinal worm infection in babies results in an irritating sensation in the abdomen. There are a variety of intestinal worms that have an effect on babies. Some of the common parasitic worms that affect babies are roundworms, hookworms, threadworms and tapeworms.
These worms are different in shapes and size such as the roundworms are large spinal worms where as the hookworm is small measuring about one centimeter. On the other hand, thread worms are tiny worms that are visible in the stools of babies.

Commonly found in the rainy season, the common causes of intestinal worms in babies are as follows:

Eating contaminated food
Drinking contaminated water
Lack of personal hygiene
Poor sanitation
Eating raw and uncooked meat

It is not possible for babies to disclose their problems properly. So it is the duty of the parents to keep an eye on the babies. Some symptoms of worm infestation in babies includes diarrhea, bad breath, dark circles under the eyes, inflammation of intestine and lungs, nausea, vomiting, loss of weight, nervousness, nutritional disorders, constipation and more.

In the initial stage, people opt for home remedies for these worm infections as this generally gets cured gradually. Some of the common and good home remedies of intestinal worm in babies are as follows:

After breakfast, eat 1 cup of grated carrot in the morning. Continue it for four to five days.

Mix a tablespoon of papaya juice with 1 tea spoon of honey. Consume this juice in the morning in empty stomach. After the juice, take a glass of warm milk along with a spoon of castor oil. Continue the whole process for two days and see the good effects.

Seeds of pumpkin are also considered as good remedy against worm infection. Take a table spoon of peeled pumpkin and take it with 250 ml of boiling water.

Drink vidanga or Embelia ribes with buttermilk for two to three days. It is highly effective in intestinal worm infection in babies.
