Ayurved Panchkarma

Ayurved is considered one of the oldest sciences in India. The main emphasis of Ayurved is on the prevention and the healing along with focusing on the various methods of purification and rejuvenation. It is a science and considered to be art of appropriate living that also aids in attaining longevity. Ayurved Panchkarma is regarded as one of the primary cleansing and detoxification treatment of Ayurved.

What does Ayurved Panchkarma mean:
The basic meaning of Panchkarma means the "five therapies". It is all-inclusive system of awareness and practices to sanitize the body of toxins and restore it to stabilize with natural law. These five curative means of getting rid of toxins from the body are Vamana, Virechana, Nasya, Basti and Raktamoskshana. This series of five therapies help eliminate deep-rooted pressure and disease causing toxins from the body while harmonizing the doshas. Ayurved Panchkarma is useless if special detoxification diet is not given besides the treatments. Panchkarma plays a very important role in Ayurvedic medicine, and this true in both health as well as in disease.
Although panchkarma is often considered a whole procedure, it really is only one part of a bigger group of therapies that belongs to the cleansing procedures called shodan. There also exists a group of milder techniques called shaman for those which are not strong enough for shodan.

Importance of Ayurved Panchkarma:
In today`s world majority of the people are becoming the victims of unfavorable effects of strain and anxiety, which is responsible for diseases related to improper digestion, lack of sleep, allergies, chronic fatigue, cancer, heart diseases, diabetes, osteoporosis etc. The importance of Ayurved Panchkarma is borne out by the fact that it is valid to all cases casing a wide range of preventive, curative, and primitive conditions. These diseases are caused largely due to profoundly seated toxins. One of the important facts associated with the process of Panchkarma is that it eliminates these toxins from the body. This in the process allows permanent healing of tissues, channels, digestion and mental functions. In Ayurveda, this kind of treatment is broadly divided into two categories: Shodhana and Shamana. Curing the disease by cleaning-up the impurities is called Shodhana chikitsa, which is the principle on which Panchakarma is based. It involves the clearance of vitiated doshas (vata, pitta and kapha) which cause the disease and thereby the restores the equilibrium of doshas.

Ayurved Panchkarma Panchakarma includes the five purification therapies, these are, Vamana (emesis), Virechana (purgation), Basti (enema), Nasya (nasal insufflation) and Raktamokshan(blood-letting). Letting go these will vanquish the human soul to outer bounds of imagination. sitagita informs about Ayurved Panchkarma, to know more on the other aspects of Ayurveda, do navigate through the other pages of the site.
